Calculator inputs stay on your device unless you share them

The earnings calculator runs entirely on your device. Your inputs (years of experience, market, production mix, and so on) are stored locally so they persist between launches, in the iOS app's local storage, or in your browser on the web. The calculator works fully offline and never uploads anything.

There is one exception, and it is entirely your choice. In the coach chat you can switch on Answer with my calculator profile, which sends those same inputs alongside your message so the coach can answer using your actual situation rather than asking you to repeat it. It is off unless you turn it on, the switch sits in plain view above the message box so you can always see which way it is set, and turning it off stops it with the very next message. When it is on, the profile is handled exactly like the rest of your message: sent over HTTPS, forwarded to Anthropic to generate the reply, and not stored on our servers.

Chat messages are sent to generate responses

When you use the coach chat in the iOS app, the messages in your current conversation are transmitted over HTTPS to our server and forwarded to Anthropic, whose Claude model generates the response. This is the only way the feature can work. We do not store your conversations on our servers. Your transcript exists only on your device, and under Anthropic's commercial API terms, API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models. Anything you type into the chat (including any numbers you describe about your income or career) is part of the message content that is processed this way, so share only what you're comfortable sending.

A random identifier enforces daily limits

The iOS app generates a random identifier on first launch (it is not your Apple ID, your advertising identifier, or anything derived from your identity) and sends it with chat requests so we can apply a daily message limit per device. The server keeps this identifier only in short-lived memory alongside a daily counter; it is not written to a database, and the counter resets every day. Deleting and reinstalling the app generates a new identifier.

Anonymous usage analytics

The iOS app reports a small set of anonymous usage signals through TelemetryDeck, so we can tell which parts of the app are actually useful and whether it is crashing. These signals record that something happened (the app was opened, a calculator control was adjusted, a chat message was sent, a reply took a certain number of seconds) and never what it was. Your income figures and the text of your messages are never included. TelemetryDeck does not receive your name, email, IP-based location, or advertising identifier, and none of this is used for tracking or advertising.

Service providers

Three providers process data on our behalf: Vercel hosts the server (and, like any host, maintains standard operational request logs), Anthropic processes chat messages to generate responses, and TelemetryDeck receives the anonymous usage signals described above. We do not sell or share personal information with anyone else, and nothing here is used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Your choices

• The chat is optional. The calculator works without any network connection.
• Deleting the app removes all locally stored data, including your calculator inputs and chat transcript.
• There is nothing to retrieve or delete server-side: we keep no account, no transcript, and no database record of you.

Children

DP Career Coach is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes and contact
